A new, peer-reviewed
journal with an exclusive focus on the Clinical Outcome
Based Ethnomedical Leads (COBEL)
Call for Papers:
I write to invite you to
share the vision of the publication of an exciting new
journal, the Journal of Ethnomedicine and Drug Discovery
(ISSN: 1523-8369) offering rapid and timely reports in
natural products. This is in response to the growing need
to keep up with the latest research on drug development
from ethnomedicinal leads. The maiden issue is scheduled
for launching during the International
Conference on Ethnomedicine and Drug Discovery, November
3-5, 1999, The Holiday Inn Hotel, Silver Spring, Maryland;
USA organized by the Bioresources Development and Conservation
Programme . The scope of the series will include original
research work involving natural products with emphasis
on indigenous uses, biodiversity, environmental and public
policy issues, ethnopharmaceutical, ethnomedicinal and
ethnoveterinary science, applied sciences and other related
disciplines leading to drug development.
Our Editorial team includes
Professor Maurice M. Iwu Editor-in-chief, Professor
Joseph I. Okogun (Regional Editor – Africa), Professor
Elaine Elisabetsky (Regional Editor – Latin America)
and many distinguished academics from all parts of the
world (Please see our Editorial Advisory Board). The initial
Print Edition is being developed to include a Web
Edition, which will be available electronically before
appearing in print. Publishing your work in Journal
of Ethnomedicine and Drug Development will thus ensure
that your research results quickly reach an important
and attentive audience. There will be four issues of a
single volume in a year. All manuscripts are subject to
at least three independent reviews. Importantly, there
will be No page charges and Ten free reprints
will be provided. And finally all papers submitted to
us are placed on the Fast track for immediate publication.
To establish an international
reputation for including the highest quality research,
it is essential that leading scientists in this field
share their expertise and experience in Journal of
Ethnomedicine and Drug Development. Contributors to
the journal will include respected leaders in the fields,
committed to sharing quality research, quickly and concisely.
